Diamond Castle Cake with Disney Princesses

Sunday, November 16th, 2008

Do you remember how excited you would get knowing that your birthday was coming? Rylie has been to a few parties with our cakes, so she knew she could get whatever cake she wanted for her birthday. Just a couple weeks ago for Halloween, this birthday gal was a princess. So it’s no surprise that she asked for a castle cake with all of the Disney princesses.

Draped over four tiers of devil’s food cake with chocolate cream cheese icing is the multi-colored fondant that Rylie requested. And the cake was amazing to see as the party room lights were dimmed at Pump It Up, Jr. Then everyone could really see the rainbow lights that dotted the castle. We’re so glad to make your princess dream come true for your special day.

What happens in Vegas may stay in Vegas, but sometimes it’s fun to recreate some of the excitement here.

Guel Family Fundraiser

Sunday, June 22nd, 2008

The Guel Cake was made for the family’s annual reunion/fundraiser for the Carmen Guel Scholarship Fund. Carmen Guel was the matriarch that brought much of the family here from Mexico, many, many years ago. She has since passed, but she is remembered through this scholarship, and is represented on the top tier with her signature hair clip and braid flowing down the cake, and the flower she always wore behind her ear. And finally, the Mariachi she loved are represented on the sides of the top tier. This is an interpretation of the official logo that the Guel family designed in her honor.

The bottom and middle tier were made to represent some of the traditional colorful Mexican tapestry artwork. This cake was donated along with a gift certificate for the silent auction and party that was held for the scholarship fund. The Guel family has been very supportive of AJ’s Moonlight Bakery from the beginning, and they were even nice enough to list our business on their family website, so we were very happy to contribute to their cause – and they loved the cake!!!
